SSC Stenographer 2026 Overview
SSC Stenographer recruits candidates for Stenographer Grade C (Group B Non-Gazetted) and Grade D (Group C) posts in various Central Government Ministries, Departments, and attached offices.
The selection process includes a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a Skill Test in stenography — 100 wpm for Grade C and 80 wpm for Grade D. Candidates must have passed 12th standard and possess stenography certificate from a recognized institute.
Stenographer posts offer Pay Level 4–6 with in-hand salary of ₹35,000–₹55,000/month. Grade C posts in Central Secretariat offer excellent career growth to Personal Assistant and Private Secretary levels.
