SSC MTS 2026 Overview
SSC MTS (Multi Tasking Staff) is a 10th-pass central government recruitment exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for Group C non-technical posts in various ministries and departments.
SSC MTS 2026 is expected to fill approximately 9,583 vacancies for MTS (Non-Technical) and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) posts. The selection comprises Session 1 (CBT), Session 2 (CBT), and PET/PST for Havaldar posts only.
MTS is ideal for 10th-pass candidates seeking stable government employment with Pay Level 1 (₹18,000 basic). Duties include general office maintenance, delivery of dak, and minor clerical work. Havaldar posts in Central Board of Indirect Taxes offer slightly higher pay and uniform allowance.
