IBPS PO (Probationary Officer) is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection to recruit Probationary Officers / Management Trainees in 11 participating public sector banks including Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Union Bank of India, and others.

IBPS PO 2026 has notified 4,455 vacancies across participating banks. The selection process comprises three stages: Prelims, Mains, and Interview. Unlike SSC CGL, IBPS PO retains a personal interview stage (interview + group discussion carries 100 marks).

The starting in-hand salary after confirmation is approximately ₹52,000–₹58,000/month in metro cities, with fast promotion prospects — PO to Manager typically takes 3–5 years. IBPS PO is considered the #1 banking exam for aspirants targeting officer-cadre roles in public sector banks.
